These type of breed is around 200 years old, cross breeding with Poodles believed to tighten the curl. Compared to other retrievers, this breed takes longer to mature than others.
The Curly Coated Retriever has the most unusual coat of all retrievers. People with allergies are not advised to interact with these dogs because of their oily coat. This breed is rare, although small in numbers; the Curly is still as fit for purpose. In the United States alone, only 150 are registered compared to over 60,000 Golden puppies.
4. Flat Coated Retriever
